Satchur8 vs Norton

So, I have a well made (IMO) Japanese S-series guitar from way back. It's my go-to axe and it has a Fred and a PAF Joe in it. Love it, just would like a hint more beef or bigness to the sound if that makes sense. But, that's nit-pick.

I was thinking of popping in a Norton and PAF Pro in another guitar I have (like a Les Paul, Mahongany with Maple cap). Currently it has a '59 and a JB. Nothing wrong with them necessarily, but again, would like to keep the harmonics I have but get a little more full and more modern Neck sound. Then, I see this Satchur8 business.

What's up with that? What does the Alinco 8 do? The Norton is described as "between the Fred and and Tone Zone". I can't really tell from the descriptions on the DiMarzio site.

Alnico 8 sort of merges ceramic and a5 qualities. High end is a warmer and the mids are fuller like an alnico 5, but the bass is tighter and theres more output like a ceramic. in the lp if u like the jb, just keep it. if ur not loving the 59, just replace it with a distortion neck, it fits your fuller and more modern description. As far as more beef and bigness in the s series, try the mo joe or the satchur8.

What? I find the A8 to sound almost exactly like a loud bassy A2. Nothing even closed to the scooped nature of A5s or ceramics.
