Saturday Night Special or 59/Custom Hybrid or ?

Hey guys. Looking to replace the HFS in my PRS SE Custom 24. Haven't been able to
decide what I want in there. The SNS and 59/Custom have my attention. Currently have the
WLH set in my LP and love 'em but want something a little different. Play Hard/Classic rock,
But also value good cleans. Comments, suggestions? Thanks.

Peace,

Darrin

I'm using the 59/Custom in the bridge of a Les Paul, it's a fantastic pup for the harder end of classic rock. I don't think it cleans up as well as a lower output humbucker, but it does ok. Being able to switch to parallel may help there.

However, a forum bro here that I chat with really likes the way it cleans up. I'm guessing that we approach the amp EQ and how we get overdrive differently.

I haven't used the SNS, but I am very curious about them.

The '59/Custom hybrid is a bright, midscooped pickup, with a firm low end and the virtues of unbalanced coils. Definitely different than a WLH.

Own a Custom 24 with a HFS. I love the 59 /Custom Hybrid but in that guitar it REALLY is going to change the tones dramatically.
I will throw you a curve if you want keep that aggressive singing tone of the HFS but in a bigger sweeter pickup that really opens up and cleans up when you roll off the volume try an ALT8. Just dropped one into my old Carvin DC 127 KOA that I plan to pair with my 07 Custom 24 with the VB/HFS set up on stage and am very pleased!!

I really don't want the aggressiveness of the HFS. Looking for a PAF with some more aggression, maybe the SNS is
what I'm looking for. Want some beefy but tight lows, "ample" mods and singing highs.
