Darkness on the edge of Tone
Been hard at work the last couple of months getting all of the primary tracking done for the next album, and thought I would share this rough mix.
Still needs to be actually mixed, which will be after the vocals are complete, but it's a good indicator of where the album is at now.
Synths are either a Dave Smith MOPHO, Roland JV-1080, or E-Mu Classic Keys. The loops were designed by me using African drum samples.
Used a different approach on guitar and bass tracks for this album, and am interested in what the general impressions are.
A quick word about the song title. The new album is a concept album based on EA Poe's only novel, The Narrative Of Arthur Gordon Pym. As such, it has an antiquated view of race (especially if you know Poe's feelings on the matter). However, this title is the best descriptor for the concept. No offense is meant by the music vs song title!
