Save us from trouble,Seymour!

DiMarzio's site quotes pup's EQ in a very prominent place.Very helpfull for excluding hypothetical choises...Is there a reliable reference for SD neck pups such as:jazz,59',alnico 2,PG neck,DD neck,FS neck e.t.c?

Treble: Mid: Bass: So simple,isn't?

Re: Save us from trouble,Seymour!

Why are you even looking at Die Mars Zero (aka DiMarzio) pickups.

Re: Save us from trouble,Seymour!

I've long thought that they should stick the tone chart in a more obvious place, or have links to the chart in the product descriptions. I mean, it's not that hard to find, but there should be a front page link to it.

Re: Save us from trouble,Seymour!

I've never noticed that column at the tone chart...Damn...
So what's the deal, now?I have to step into DDneck or Invader neck to get my mids? And what about the sound smoothness? Is there a Seymour Dunkan Air Norton?...Is there a chance for me to stop the questions?!!

Re: Save us from trouble,Seymour!

The EQ for the neck versions are not the same as the EQ for the bridge pickups. A DDn is not EQ'd 6/7/9 or whatever. Same with the Invader and Full Shred. That's one thing they should fix... Frank?

True. That's why I think the average guy doesn't pay attention to that.

Re: Save us from trouble,Seymour!

Dear Blueman 335,it seems like i'm not an 'average' guy, just trying to learn and sort some things out...Like if i put a Custom Custom in the neck, whose EQ and tone standards are more to my liking, and pull it AWAY from the strings would it work?Would it be irreparably muddy?

WHY do you wanna put a p'up designed for the bridge in the neck of your guitar?

There IS a reason there are neck AND bridge p'ups...

Re: Save us from trouble,Seymour!

Bah, some bridge pickups work great in the neck, the custom just isn't one of them in my opinion, def not a CC.

JB though? Hell yeah.

Re: Save us from trouble,Seymour!

Many people use the 59b, Demon, and Phat Cat bridge in the neck position. I have used all 3 with great results.

I agree with you, there's obviously a reason for that...But can you also indicate an obvious reason why none of seymour's neck pups has strong mids?I believe that:1.Some people NEED enough mids from their neck pup 2.Some people don't feel like turning to DiMarzios 3.Some people maybe don't have the whatever potentials needed to customize their gear...

Re: Save us from trouble,Seymour!

I'd put a Pearly gates bridge in the neck before I'd do a CC, or an alnico II pro bridge in the neck.

I've used the 59B in the neck with decent results, which leads me to believe that the PGb or A2Pb would work in a similar fashion, but with those necessary mids.
