SC-101 neck with Antiquity Surfers (middle/bridge)

Good evening,

I recently picked up a Squier VM Strat for pretty cheap, and I want to start modding it (because hey, why not).

It's got the stock SC-101 set, which isn't bad. But I'm looking in the parts bin, and I've got an Antiquity Surfer RWRP middle with an Antiquity Surfer bridge. I'd love to set this guitar up so it can surf.

Question one: how will the SC-101 neck sound in this combo?

Question two: I heard there's a way you can blend the neck and bridge, so it sounds closer to a Jaguar. Is there a way to do this without adding a DPDT switch, and just use the three potentiometers?

Thank you for any insight.

The Antiquity Surfers are great pickups, so I think it will really improve the sound. I believe they might be out of phase with the stock pickup, and if they are, reverse the hot and ground on the SC-101.

The Surfers will be in phase, it’s the Texas Hot's that are north leading and out of phase. Have owned sets of both.
On the Surfers I would get a neck and run the full set. I have a set in my 94 Washburn USA Silverado and they sound absolutely amazing.

Another thing you can do with the blender is put the rwrp in the neck so if you have the blend cocked in either neck or bridge positions, it gives you some hum cancellation.

Can I tell which pickup is which (ex: middle or bridge) based on the number on the back? Antiquities don’t have a standard sticker like other models.

is the bridge the hotter custom version? if so the dcr will be around 10k vs the normal 6.5k. if they are both the normal version, then see which one is attracted to the neck pup and put that one in the middle
