SC-sized HB for Strat... suggestions????

I was looking to a put a Hot Rails NECK model in my Strat

I had a Lil 59, but wanted to see if there was something fuller and sweeter, with less nasally honk, so I thought this might be the ticket. I don't think I wanna go Dimarzio.

Thoughts?

Of the 3 squished humbuckers I have in my Squier, the Lil 59 seems to have the least nasal honk. The Duckbucker has a really awesome treble response, while the JB Jr. has a pretty strong midrange blast. The Lil 59 sounds balanced pretty well in the neck position for me. The Hot Rails is an awesome pickup, and it might do the trick for you in the neck position, but adjusting the height of the Lil 59 has a pretty strong effect on the tone.

It's an Alder and Rosewood Strat BTW

For the neck? I can't say.

I have a Little '59 NECK model (SL59-1n) in the bridge position of my Stratocaster.

I have not had any other single-coil sized humbuckers before, but my accidental step into putting a neck model in the bridge was a good one.

I have heard rave reviews about the Cool Rails for the neck position.

I have even seen players ask for and wish for a full sized cool rails so they could have one in the neck position of their Les Pauls / 335's. All the Cool Rails people are fanatical about them in the neck.

The hotrails is fuller but it isn't as well defined as the little 59. I am not a fan of the hotrails neck because it is too thick and dark.

The Hotrail I had in the neck of my Strat was wayyyyy to bassy (even lowered). For solos it was great when there was distortion, the clean was just unusable FOR ME, that may not be so for everyone else.

Cool Rails is the only one I like in the neck out of the Hot Rails, JBjrn and Cool Rails. A Cool Rails Bridge in the neck is even better :)
