Schecter c-1 5 way pick up selector help!

Hello, I'm new in this forum. My name is Kevin!

Anyway, I own a Schecter C-1 artist (no longer in production). It has two knobs (volume and tone), SD JB and 59 pups (love 'em) and a 5 way selector. It's kind of an all black version of the C-1 classic (with no maple top).

Recently, the pick up selector broke up and I haven't been able to find a replacement or a proper wiring diagram. I bought a 8 poles Pro Line 5 way selector and also own a 7 poles fender-like selector. I live in the middle of Mexico, so getting another selector is going to be hard as hell. I already mailed Schecter and they haven't answered.

I don't have much experience with electronic stuff or soldering, so some advice will be welcomed.

Thanks!

Re: Schecter c-1 5 way pick up selector help!

if you have a multimeter
then
take a piece of paper
draw 5 rows of eight circles
with the switch in position one ( to the bridge )
put one lead of the meter on the first terminal
then the other lead to every other terminal on the switch
color in all the circles where the meter reads continuity

move the stationary lead to the second terminal
touch the remaining six
mark results

continue till you have passed over the entire set of terminals

now set switch to position two ( next up from bridge )
repeat the above

once you have a chart of the interconnections

post the results and what kind of switching you want
and we may be able to help

so how did it switch before

bridge full
something split????
both neck and bridge full???
something else split/ or in parallel????
neck full

Re: Schecter c-1 5 way pick up selector help!

Welcome to the forum, Kevin!

For it's 5-way selections Schecter uses (used?) a P model Mega switch.

I can't seem to find a wiring diagram right now, But if you Google "P-Mega Switch Wiring Diagram" images you will probably find one ... maybe even a Schecter diagram. They used to have them on their site but I don't see them there anymore.

This one
may work ... but you'll be better off if you find one color coded for Seymour Duncan pups/
