i finally got a job, so i'm gonna be able to get this in about a month, so what do you guys think? it comes with stock SD pups (59n/JBb) and is string/neck-thru. its list price is about a thousand dollars, but i can get it from musician's friend for half that. anybody know anything about this?

Schecter C-1 Artist Limited Edition

it looks like its got good ratings...

Kicks ass. Wait for dime to come in. I have a schecter, almost the same thing. Best thing I've bought guitarwise, besides maybe my amp.

Re: Schecter C-1 Artist Ltd. Ed.???

Those things look sweet! :32: I gotta check one out. Looks like a steal.

Re: Schecter C-1 Artist Ltd. Ed.???

havent played one of those, but you should check out the classic too

its neck through and has a nice top (blue one) i dunno how much more it is or if you'd care for the inlay but i played one and it sounded great.

very clear and articulate sounding and felt quite nice to play also

Re: Schecter C-1 Artist Ltd. Ed.???

i cant get the classic, i barely have enough for the Artist. but, i love that neck-thru zero-heel stuff. i really dug those vine-of-life inlays, though.

Re: Schecter C-1 Artist Ltd. Ed.???

Schecter makes great stuff. I'd be very surprised if you weren't ecstatic over that guitar (after you bought it).

Re: Schecter C-1 Artist Ltd. Ed.???

Looks like a great guitar for the money - great value getting SDs as part of that price!

Re: Schecter C-1 Artist Ltd. Ed.???

Excellent guitar, im Dime BTW, hehe. Great pickups, the neck is perfect, you have PERFECT access right up to the 24th fret man. If there we 25 frets, you would still have perfect access to put it that way. Very good electronics, low action, and its already set-up by Schecter USA so my intonation was dead on. I have nothing to complain about, the cleans are amazing, distortion is awesome. I know what someones going to say, you have a microcube. Get on AIM or Skype and I will suprise you. But if theres anything that you want to know about it just ask me, I am more than sure that you will love the guitar. As a matter of fact, I just might get another one, just because its that good and to load some diff pups in it. Good luck with your purchase man.

Re: Schecter C-1 Artist Ltd. Ed.???

If you do get it, please get rid of those chrome pickups...I don't think they match the guitar very well with the black bridge.

Re: Schecter C-1 Artist Ltd. Ed.???

i might swap out the nickel covers for some black ones... but not the pups.

hey dime, i have a question about the neck... is it "sticky" with that gloss finish? alot of the guitars i've tried that had gloss finishes kinda stuck to my hand when i played, cause of moisture and junk.

Re: Schecter C-1 Artist Ltd. Ed.???

For a low-priced guitar, you simply cannot beat Schecter! The build quality and workmanship is top notch. A very solidly built guitar for the money. I'd expect to pay at least 50% more judging by quality.

Oh- those chrome pup covers have go to go! I wonder what's underneath those- if it's just the black pup coils, leave it like that. Swap out the chrome knobs as well- they just don't match with the rest of the hardware.

As for the gloss finished neck, you can fix that with a bit of fine grit sandpaper or some steel wool. I hate painted necks too- my hand goes all over the place.

what? said:

save up then :D

find somewhere to play it - i garuntee if you like that kinda guitar you'll love it

it might be 1 or 200 dollars more so i see your point.

it comes JB/Jazz and it'd be quite a bit brighter than the Artist, coz of the maple top.

all preference really - the artist seems a great deal though :)

Re: Schecter C-1 Artist Ltd. Ed.???

I dont think its sticky, but I dont sweat too much. Even if I did, thats something minor.
