Has anyone played/owned one of these? The pics I've seen are drop-dead gorgeous, and they come stock with Duncans, which is cool, but I'd really like to get an opinion from someone who has played one.
It's an awesome guitar. Schecter make their guitars very very well, and they sound amazing. With a proper setup it's right up there with $1000+ guitars.
I bought a C-1 Classic after playing one at a local Guitar Center a couple of times. It's a great playing guitar and the Duncan pups, a JB and a Jazz, are a nice factory plus. I use .011's on mine with a Drop-D tuning....plays like buttah. The sustain is incredible thanks to the neck/string-thru body set-up along with a Tonepros bridge. Both pickups also come split for some nice single coil tones.
This guitar is kinda like having two guitars in one in many ways. There are some good deals out there on used ones. I think some people feel the neck inlay is a little over-the-top, and I'll even admit it's almost a distraction, but it's still a fun guitar to play.
If I was going to look into a C-1 Classic, I'd also consider and play one of those C-1 Artist http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=guitar/s=electric/search/detail/base_pid/518187/
I haven't played one of these but it looks like it's built the same as a Classic, and also has basically the same hardware and electronics as the Classic.
Either way, this Schecter model guitar has great quality for the buck.
