It would look sharp with inlays on the very edge of the board, like the old Ibanez Petrucci models.

Re: Schecter fans...new for '05...

yeah inlays are a bit bland/typical but i like the 3 dots on the 24th fret for a little change and the fact that they went with an ebony fingerboard!! it's ok, i've got a great luthier who can do some crazy inlay work on that if i decided to get one and spice it up a bit.

Re: Schecter fans...new for '05...

i like the grain on this one a lot.. a step away from the traditional bookmatched style

Re: Schecter fans...new for '05...

Yeah, and I gather from the description that it's an actual thick top, not a veneer like on my C1+ (on mine there's no line down the center where any matching would have taken place).

Re: Schecter fans...new for '05...

Here, have a look and see what you think. I think it's a veneer, but I could be wrong...

Re: Schecter fans...new for '05...

i can see a line in the middle... look where the lower dark flame ends. there it is.
a veneer is wood.. but it's not 1/8th or 1/4 of an inch thick.. it's usually just 1 mm of wood, slapped on top for transparent finishes so they look better

Re: Schecter fans...new for '05...

Yeah, I know a veneer is still wood, and I don't really care which it is I just always assumed it was :).

well.. on mahagony/korina bodies.. i'd consider a 1/8th inch top.. on alder bodies, i doubt i'd go anything but a veneer route

Re: Schecter fans...new for '05...

I can't figure out exactly when this guitar is coming out, there's no info on the schecter site, does anyone know?

It will probably debut at NAMM and start being distributed after that...

Re: Schecter fans...new for '05...

why can't they put the features of the c-1 classic (neck-through, jb/jazz combo) in a guitar that looks like this, instead of something that belongs on a freakin christmas tree??
