Hi there..

I'm thinking about getting a Schecter Hellraiser C-1 FR Passive. It comes with a pickup combo of Schecter USA Brimstone-Six. Do you know if they are any good for Thrash/Death Metal? Or would I better change they? thx

Re: Schecter USA Brimstone-Six?

Seems kinda odd doesnt it? I cant say if you would find them good or not for thrash metal.

I get it we are on a pickup manufacturers website but I know more guys with stock pups in their guitars then guys with duncans. So someone likes them.

Re: Schecter USA Brimstone-Six?

Ive not tried any of Schecter's pickups, so cant tell you. That may be what you run into here.. They have made a big shift to in house pickups, over the last year, whereas in years past, they have used mostly Duncans and EMGs. If you like that guitar, get it.. try the pups.. If they dont do the job, then we can talk alternatives..

Re: Schecter USA Brimstone-Six?

My local music shop has a solo 6 hellraiser with those pickups and they are KILLER! I want a set for my ibanez rgd.

They have great output and are eq'ed great.

In my opinion they will work for any hi-gain or metal application

Note: although I don't own this guitar I spend a lot of time at my local shop and I play this guitar frequently. I would own it if I liked to guitar itself

Re: Schecter USA Brimstone-Six?

Well, I think I will get the passive. If I don't get along with these pickups I have a TB-5 and a SH-2 here waiting to go!!

Re: Schecter USA Brimstone-Six?

They sound pretty good from the demos I watched, I'd give em a shot. Schecter makes some good stuff for the metal crowd.
