I was curious about the Screamin Demon differences in the SD (SH-12) or (TB-12) whats the differences in the 2 Pups. I have got a Invader in the bridge position and I'm really not happy with the sound, its seems to have alot od bass and not enough mids or highs, would the Screamin Demons be better and what to match in up with for a HSH on an Ibanez RX470? Just throw me your thoughts and opinions on this matter thanks

Re: Screamin Demon differences (ver. Invander)

any TremBucker is slightly larger so the poles line up better under the wider string of a fender or floyd-type bridge, ie F-spaced

so for the bridge of your ibanez technically you'd want a trembucker, but as the demon also makes a very cool neck pickup and the spacing issue is largely cosmetic (on a humbucker with a bar magnet), i say go regular spaced.

Re: Screamin Demon differences (ver. Invander)

You probably want the TB-12. The only difference is the string spacing. Your guitar has a Floyd Rose (or Edge) bridge, right? If your guitar is made out of basswood, both the Invader and the Screamin' Demon might not be the best match.

Thanks, as for my guitar wood makup I have no idea, I like the sound of the screamin demon, and I have a Invader HB in the bridge position, but it doesnt just have the sound Im looking for, like I mentioned before its seems to have alot of bass and not enough mids and highs, as for the the Pups have you guys got any recommendations on what kind of TB i need to go with, and yes it has a Floyd trem. AND as for the neck PU and Middle single Pups to match with the bridge.:banghead:

You might want to try the duncan detonator pup. Its really well balanced. It plays very well well clean and it very defined dirty.

Re: Screamin Demon differences (ver. Invander)

isnt that modeled after the invader?

It looks like the Invader, but it sounds more like a Duncan Distortion with a tighter bottom and a slightly rounded top end. The Detonator is a very cool pickup, and, IMHO, Duncan would do well in making a USA version of it.

I didnt see this Pup on the website, If its anything like the Invader I really dont want it, Listening to the samples, I like the Custom, Duncan Distortion, and Screamin Demon, But you guys say it may not sound good with the wood in my guitar, But I still cant find out what type of wood my Body of the guitar is, I know it has a rosewood neck.

You mention in the first post that you have an Ibanez RX470, although I cannot find that model...you sure it isn't an RG 470, or some other letter designation?

Re: Screamin Demon differences (ver. Invander)

if you lack mids in a thin Strat-style trem'd out guitar you want a Custom Custom in the bridge, a Pearly Gates in the neck and an alnico 2 strat pickup in the middle position.

No problem. :) The harmony central reviews suggest it has a basswood body, which is pretty dry and middy by most accounts.

A Custom would be a decent match, as it has solid lows and highs which will help balance the basswood. Custom Custom? Sure, though I've never used one. A Distortion would probably also be a decent match, less lows and tippy top highs than the Custom, yet still brighter in the range of tones, and it will also give you some good chugga.

The Demon would also be a decent match, as it's PAFish and a bit bright, which will balance the wood in the same way the Custom will, although it will have less output.

Rummage through the harmony central reviews for those pickups and here to see how they do in basswood body guitars with floyd tremolos.

I met george lynch sat at a guitar clinic, it was pretty sweet. The tech let me hold one of his guitars, it was a real heavy maple body with a lynch pup in it. He said the pup goes well with the heavy maple body.

They do work really well in Maple.
