Screamin' Demon or Duncan Distortion????

Hi There!
I was wondering what pickup sounds the best.....the sc or dd????? I know that Lynch only on the self titled LynchMob album started using the sd.....before that he used the dd......what seems to be the best one.....harmonix wise and overall???? I know the dd is a hotter pup but what else?????

i have not had or tried the full sd, but i did buy and install in my usa strat the lil sd and didnt like it. it was a bit to glassy for my likeing so i changed for a hotrail. my cousin has a dd in his lp and it is nice. alot nicer than the sd i had. im not sure how much the lil sd compares to the full but i would go for the dd.

If your looking for good harmonics go with the DD 'cause it's hotter than the SD.

hotter humbuckers giving better harmonics isn't a sure equation. i own the SD, the harmonics from it are as good as my Invader. it also depends on your amp's gain. even my Lil '59 neck has impressive harmonics with lots of gain dialled in.

i bought the SD because it's a good non-high output unit, Lynch using it is a bonus because the music i'm playing is very different from his...

Lynch used the DD on older Dokken stuff and the SD, now he uses the JB quite a bit. For harmonics I find the JB to be a better choice over the DD by just a little, the JB can cover more area.

I've used them both(currently am using the SD now) and they are both good pickups.

The DD has a good bit more output and a little more of an aggressive cut...more "thrashy" sounding for lack of a better term.

The SD is a nice match for my XXX which already has tons of gain and it's a warm sounding pickup even though it's a tad scooped but not in a bad way. I really like this pickup...but I would use it more for hard rock than speed metal.

They are not completely disimilar though. If they had the same ouput and you put them head to head they would be kind of close I would think.
