After many various screw placement changes, I have finally found THE sound I was after, with a Demon.

The screw placement that gets me MY sound.

Re: Screamin Demon

Cool idea!
Let me guess: tights up the lower strings and warms up the higher strings??
but looks a bit wired.

Actually, the bottom is rather mellow, and the highs became more piercing. Not a sound most would like, but I love it :)

oh sure....Throw me another curve ball buddy? I was going to replace all 6 screws...

Explain to us what the half screws, half allens do for the pickup?

:saeek: I think it looks kool, I could see someone wanting that kind of sound.
It's awesome to be unique, good customization! :cool3:

Re: Screamin Demon

That pickup does not need any allen screws. It seems like it would have thin bass strings if put on the top, or icepick-like shrillness if put on the bottom. Take those allens and throw them out the window before you hurt someone. My ear drums are thobbing already!

You will be happy with all 12 as fillister screws, trust me on this one :)

John: The allens make the lows hollow and punchy, with great distorted clarity. Awesome for power chording. The screws make the highs fat and slightly piercing. Good for ska-type chording. It's almost single coil sounding. When using the bridge pickup, I mix ska and distorted punk, and with the different screws I can have both sounds with just the stomp of a pedal. If you play typical chords (IE: G 320033) it sounds like ass (VERY unbalanced sound), but fat neck buckers are for chording :D

Kac: This mod was actually all about looks, but it sounded so awesome I had to keep it.

big_black: To each his own.

Re: Screamin Demon

Awesome, I love it when good looks lead to good sound.

And the ska/punk rock is awesome too, sound like a new pick-up idea.
maybe the SP.... i dunno it doesn't quite have the ring of JB... maybe PS
Rock On :smoker:

If it's the PS people might call it the Paul Stanley pickup, because those are the initials :chairfall
I will be having one made to my specs in the Custom Shop, I have a few ideas floating around that should improve on where it's at, but I'm not going to leak these ideas :13:

Forgot to mention, don't even think about splitting this thing, tone's weaker than a wet noodle :blackeye:
