happened upon these amp sims made by Mike Scuffham, the former marshall product designer involved in the marshall jmp-1 preamp.

not too shabby! has a 15-day free trial & $100 to buy. I like that it's got everything in it you'd need - cabs, mic placement, delay, gate.
I don't necessarily do it justice, but here's an old guitar clip amped through a plexi preset with a few minor tweaks:
