so i finally decided to buy the SD-1, all my fav guitar heros from the 80s and 90s used them. time for me to have one!
ive had the bad monkey for about 3.5 years now.
SD-1 is from 0:00 to 6:00
Bad Monkey is from 6:00 to END
the loop plays over seamlessly so be warned you may get confused.
both levels @ full
tones @ 12 oclock
gain @ zero
i also made sure the test parameters are equal so each pedal is the only pedal between my guitar and the amp for each test.
i couldnt believe how much tone gets sucked when there back to back in a chain. its not fair that way!

in my opinion,
the SD-1 has a slight mid hump that rounds off into creamy smoother highs.
the bass is actually quite good with the SD-1 i was expecting a huge loss like everyone says.
the BM is more boxy and square, but fuller with more grit edge about it.
both pedals under $40 bucks is quite amazing. but for sheer sound quality and what my ears like more, SD-1 wins in this situation.
but you gotta respect the Bad Monkeys ability to press a tone into metal in a not so friendly way. it really is a bad monkey running around pressing volumes into violence.
