SD BMP question

I recently acquired a guitar with EMG HZ's. I like the sound of the pickups, but I was wondering if a BMP would work with them? I know that I could just get a set of active EMG's or Blackouts with accompanying hardware and swap everything out. But the BMP kit would be less than half the cost. So I'm just wondering if anyone has already tried this and what their results have been?

I asked SD customer service if I could use the BMP with my 59s and they said yes. It supposedly works well with all low to medium output pickups. I tried it and it worked great, got a set of 59s on steroids.

How difficult was the installation?

Thanks man, good to know. I may soon have an active guitar.

I'm fairly certain that the HZ's have four conducters and a ground.

Re: SD BMP question

The pickups will sound noticeably different with the BMP. And, yes, lower output models tend to play nicer with the BMP, as well.

Which HZ's are you using?
