SD branded pickup covers.

This may be an obvious question- I was wondering if SD branded covers are available for purchase. If they are and you have some for sale, be sure to drop me a PM.

Another question if I may. The covers I have for my SSL-2s are not well matched to the height of the pickups. Could this perhaps put extra pressure on the bobbin when screwed to the pickguard? (the covers are too short and do not touch the base section of the pickups)

Re: SD branded pickup covers.

i assume that seymour duncan branded covers are available.

short covers arent a big deal when in the guitar since there isnt much to mess up the coil, but when you take the pup out of the guitar be careful.

Re: SD branded pickup covers.

I've bought Seymour Duncan branded covers from Guitar Electronics before. They're inexpensive, and work great. (Scroll to the bottom.)

You want the covers to be a bit shorter than the pup so that the mounting spring can hold them on tight. Once you get them assembled, there shouldn't be a problem.

Re: SD branded pickup covers.

Thanks for the replies. Jeremy, could you elaborate on the care that I should be taking? Also, when I received the third SSL- I noticed that a small section of the copper wiring on the coil is a little skewed. Is this a problem?

Re: SD branded pickup covers.

You can also get them from musiciansfriend. Look under Seymour Duncan by the 'shop by brand' feature.

Re: SD branded pickup covers.

Thanks Naps. I have decided on the covers from Guitar Electronics, as the Musicians Friend price is ridiculously uncompetitive. ($12.95 vs $2.)
