SD close to Fender Wide-Range Hums?

Played a whole bunch of Strats and Teles trying to figure out what I like in a Fender, and my favorite out of all of them was the 72 Deluxe Tele RI with the Fender "Wide-Range" humbuckers.

So of course Fender doesn't sell them separately and they are odd humbucker sizes. And of course nobody but me actually LIKES the things as most everything I've found is people trying to replace them!

So is there a SD close to the Wide-Range sound? I've heard they were designed by Seth Lover and get their extended high end from 1M tone and volume pots. Maybe a Seth Lover humbucker with high resistance pots would get me close?

You can find them on ebay, new and used RI`s and originals from the 70`s :)
I got MJ at the custom shopto rewind my wideranges.

Stag Mag. Alnico poles have a tighter pattern than a normal bucker magnet setup and will sound more like the CuNiFe poles in the Fender design. Stag Mags are also known to be bright. i love mine in neck position.

What about the Fralin Unbucker? Maybe a brighter/more open sound than your average PAF? It'd be going into an alder Strat with maple/rosewood neck.

RI Fender wide ranges are (from what I hear) constructed more like a Gibson pickup.

Course I've never tried either the old ones or new ones, so who knows.
