SD Custom Shop Order/Shipping Issues

I'm hoping I can connect with the other guys caught in this mess thru here. I sent in a SJB-1B for a rewind back in April. On April 28th, I received an email saying my pickup had shipped. The day before it was suppose to arrive, the UPS tracking updated to say it was being rerouted back to the sender. There was no communication from SD on what happened or why until I sent a message to them thru my SD CS account. About a week later I received a call saying that a few orders had been mixed up and they were trying to sort it out. I still have not received my pickup, but they did have a customer forward me one coil from a Mustang bass pickup that had been rewound. So not only did they ship that pickup to the wrong customer, it was then forwarded to a second incorrect customer. I was told I could email my customer service rep for updates, but he has yet to respond to any email I send. I've called several times and when I finally receive a return call it's a line like "We're working on this...", but again it's been 5.5 weeks since my order was mixed up and I still don't have my pickup. I get the feeling that customer service isn't all that important to SD. I can't imagine the other people tangled up in this are happy with not having their pickup(s) and have just refused to work with SD to straighten this out.

This was my first experience with the SD Custom Shop and will definitely be my last.

If you received a SJB-1B and are looking for a Mustang bass coil, please reply.

My buddy just got an SJB-1B and he tore it apart to make a hybrid, I wonder if that was yours??

This was my first experience with the SD Custom Shop and will definitely be my last.

Hopefully they can get in touch with you sooner rather than later...but when they have an issue it seems they don't care to communicate (unless you have name recognition.)

I would share my experience but apparently it annoys the MODs when I share it. lol

Sorry man, not sure how long it is supposed to take but the Custom Shop is excellent at not communicating. Hope you can get it resolved quickly.

I'm hoping this is a joke, but if not, then maybe they are struggling with getting the other parties to play ball and get things resolved.

Trying to sort out shipping issues in which orders are sent to the wrong people has got to be a colossal nightmare. Not making excuses for SD. Just saying that it's got to be a mess. Hopefully it's a fairly small number of f-ups.

I wasn't joking, that's what he told me. I emailed him and asked more details like when and where he got it. I'm sure he will reply soon. Im not trying to stir the pot, I saw you post literally after waking up this morning, while having my coffee and cigarettes.
Chances are its not yours, but who knows.

If the C/S are already giving you all the information they have, then you should keep the faith in that they will sort it out. Otherwise in my opinion, once they do, you should get that work done for free and a pickup of your choice for your troubles. My opinion anyway.

They said it was three people who were caught in this. My concern is that after I spoke with them, provided my address, order number, and the pickup I was suppose to get, the Mustang pickup showed up. And it came from one of the guys involved in the mess, not SD. Which means they are just having people forward pickups wherever until they hopefully get to the right place.

I just got a response from my buddy and he got the pickup in a trade from a local guy who misrepresented it, hence why he tore it down to make a hybrid....so it wasn't him... Just struck me as odd, seeing your post and my buddy getting one that wasn't supposed to be that at all.. I guess the label was removed or something...

I'm sure Mincer will be of great help in getting that cleared up for you.

As a unemployed guy with material handling experience, I am sympathetic to the fact SD needs me. I was responsible for millions of dollars worth of materials and product. I would have been involved to some extent to nearly every stage of production until I put the FedEx label on the package. Smaller single piece orders were harder to get the shipping wrong. Same with first time customers. Time to get to the online application process again. I'd gladly relocate to California.

A few years I ordered an Invader set in blue from the portuguese importer.

The pickups arrived TWO YEARS later..
