SD HB Advice is nice for this newbie

Hi All,
I'm looking at a project on a Telecaster Am-Pro body that has a HB Neck with single coil middle and bridge routs...
I'm assuming the HB rout is specific to Fender Shawbuckers and was hoping one of you all might know.
I think this is some kind of ltd edition body because I can't find any info at Fender about this config.
The main concern is final fit and finished look.
Using a SD HB on neck, and something like a "hot rail" on the bridge, I plan on 7 way switch with push-pull knob to split the coils.
Picture of body attached. Suggestions on pickups welcome!

Warm regards,
Mike

I don't think the HB rout is specific to Shawbuckers; any humbucker ought to fit (except perhaps an unusually deep one).

As for specific pickups, there are so many possibilities... Do you want a strong neck pickup for lead playing, or do you want something more delicate? For the bridge, do you want Tele character, or more of a humbucker tone?

The more info you give about what specific kind of sounds you're looking for (or at least what type of music is the main target) the better the recommendations will be.

Even a Jazz or 59 is probably going to be a little louder than a vintage tele pickup, so a hot rails will probably match up better.

I've got a Telebucker 3 from Zangbucker (Alnico 3, 6k) in the neck of my tele and it balances nicely with the Cavalier Nocaster Lion in the bridge. If you want something simpler and more vintage, it's a good combo.

Welcome to the forum!

I only might be concerned with something like a Slash or 59 with long legs (depending on the depth of the cavity). I like PAF-types in the neck of a Tele, so a Seth Lover, Antiquity or even Alnico II Pro work for me (and even blend well with many Tele bridge pickups).

the seth and antiquity also have long legs usually. the aph should have short legs

Yes, the Seth or Antiquity would have to be ordered with short legs (if the longer ones don't fit).
