SD Invaders: Removable hex caps?

So I'm looking into to buying a set of Invader clones called "Crusaders" for Dragonfire Guitars. (Don't tear me to shreds, I'm working on a budget and they're only going in a Squire Strat). Being a clone I'm assuming they're built the same way as a the SD's. Does any one know if the hex caps can be removed and replaced? The DFG pups are only available with black caps and I wanted to switch them to gold to match the build I'm doing. Any info on this would be great, also if they are replaceable, any info on the size of the screws or whatever it may be would be extremely helpful.

Thanks in advance, Joe.

Yeah they should be removeable but i would really hate to make any assumptions about the thread size... particlarly cheaper pickups tend to use metric sized screws instead of the standard size screws that SD uses.

Ok, thanks for the replies. I guess my best course of action then would be to pull one of the poles out and measure the threads once I have the pup in hand. Hopefully I can find the same style hex screw in gold..

The gold is gonna be tough... just dont use brass though.. it wont sound right.

Yeah, you need to use steel screws so the are magnetic and be careful with SS, some is magnetic, some not so much, so finding them with a gold finish might be tough.

As far as the threads go, most SD and DMZ screws (for poles) are 5-40 threads, so the closest metric would most likely be an M3, but your best bet is to take out one of the screws and measure it.
