SD Magmic battery question

Hi all, advice will be appreciated. After much sweating I managed to get the clips for the N battery installed and found out where the output was shorting.

Now for the obvious question: what battery do I use???

The user guide says an "N" battery... that puts out 9V (not the standard 1.5v N battery) but nowhere does it say which actual battery and SD support have not managed to tell me the actual part number.

I have googled and wiki'd and found a similar sized 12v battery but that is it... help

Re: SD Magmic battery question

I don't know the exact battery but unless they've changed something, you have to sort of watch out that the battery clip (which is metal) doesn't accidentally touch metallic parts of the battery in such a way that shorts the battery connection. I can't remember why/how it happens but apparently if the battery clip itself makes contact with the metal casing around the battery (which requires the clip scrapes away the plastic coating on the battery) then it can short against the battery casing, which essentially shorts the + and - terminals.

Just a public service announcement. Good luck.

Re: SD Magmic battery question

Thanks, that's good advice, I may wrap one end of the battery in tape as a preventative measure.

Hopefully someone has advice about the battery
