Wondering is anyone has or currently uses the Seymour Duncan SP90-1 Vintage neck & SP90-2 Hot bridge P-90 set? Been wondering if I should pick this set up for my 1998 Gibson Les Paul Special, all pots changed from factory 300k to Gibson 500k, new Grover 135C tuners, GraphTech notched saddles. Currently have a Dimarzio p90 super distortion in the bridge and stock Gibson p100 in the neck. Playing rock/classic rock/hair metal covers in a cover band tuned to standard E.

Love P-90's!!! And yeah - what you have are NOT real P-90's tone. I HATE P100's.

That set will work just fine for what you want.

The Hot P-90 won't be SuperD hot, and I believe it will be fatter than the SuperD. The Vintage P-90 Weill be a whole other creature, as in a real P90 compared to the P100.

I currently rock a Les Paul with a Vintage and a Custom Duncan P90. The Custom is pretty over the top, but pure RAWK.

I've had all three: SP90-1, SP90-2, and SP90-3. I pulled the ceramic magnets out of the later two and replaced them with alnicos. Much better tones for what I play.

I happen to love the ceramic in the SP-3. I get why people might not. The Sp-2 is the one that really benefits form the mags IMO....
