SD SSL2n or SSL5-2n......major sound difference?

My Strat has a Little59 in the bridge & an SSL2 rw/rp in the middle, & an old early 70's Fender SC in the neck, that I'm thinking of replacing with a SSL2 or SSL5-2. I realize the black & white Fender wires are opposite that of the SD, but I'm still running into hum in the #4 position, & sound wise they are def. in phase!
What could possibly be the issue? Since I want to retain that # 4 high end sparkle & quack, I'm leaning towards the SSL2. Thoughts & ideas welcome!
Thanks.

Normal SSL-2 is RWRP with normal fender. So if you wanted a hum free combination with a Fender pickup you would need a normal (non-RWRP) SSL-2.

A SSL-6 (flat pole SSL-5, what I assume you mean by SSL5-2) is a significantly hotter strat pickup. Still clearly strat but much hotter. So if you want quack, get another SSL-2.

I think he means the Five Two. The Five Two is a little warmer in the high end- I love this pickup! It still keeps the piano-like bass, though.

Yes... I did mean the Five Two. But Blillie, if I get a non rw/rp SSL2 for the middle, wouldn't that mess up my hum-free setup in pos. #2 which has the bridge Lil59
auto-coil split w/the middle?? Mincer, I'm thinking that the SSL2 might be a better match for the middle SSL2.
What about Ant. Surfers...where do they fit in compared to my other choices?
Thanks guys~~

Since you're replacing the neck pickup anyway, it doesn't matter what is happening right now with the combination of a Fender pickup. If you get a normal SSL2 or a Five Two it will be humcancelling.
