Searching again for a passive pickup....

I had stopped buying and experimenting with pickups but i decided that since i have 3 guitars with active pickups i would like to go back to passives for one of them......it will be my fender US special floyd rose.......I am searching for a really high output pickup (as close as possible to emgs output)......i have already tried the JB, custom5 :gurmpy: , custom custom :gurmpy: , tone zone :gurmpy: :gurmpy: :gurmpy: :gurmpy: , and there was always something i didn't like about them(i liked most the JB). X2N, invader, and duncan distortion :22: :22: are pickups i completely dislike........

So i am searching for something with an output in the range of the JB or higher(preferably higher) and i do not want it to be muddy......Since i have mostly used duncans untill now i was wondering if there is something in the dimarzio range i could try????(maybe a Super 2, or an Evolution????? (i do not know well the dimarzio range of pups) Something else?????(even though i prefer dimarzio or duncans just because it's easier to find them over ebay....)

Re: Searching again for a passive pickup....

i have thought many times of buying the custom but i'm afraid it won't do it........as i said i need something with the output of the JB or preferably HIGHER......most custom users over here seem to agree that the custom is not hotter than the JB, ouputwise........

Well lets see, you don't like the distortion or the Invader... and you 100% completely positive that you want a pickup with higher output than the JB, I went from an Invader in my strat to a '78 EVH, I still love the tone even without the extreme output.

Try the megadrive and the evolution. I think you will like the megadrive. The super 2 is a bit bright.

Dime perhaps?

BTW, the Custom with a large ceramic mag will stomp the JB.

Honestly, it may be a little less in the output department (hardly noticable), but it rocks a hell of a lot harder.

The custom 5 and custom custom both are lower output pickups than the JB...I don't really care for the custom 5, never tried the CC. But...they're all just the same pickup with different magnets. I'd say checkin out the custom is definately worth a shot.
