second draft of "Veronique" mix

Re: second draft of "Veronique" mix

Well, it's coming along nicely. My CC would be to work on her vocals, they aren't commanding my attention enough. I would try and put a plate reverb on them if you don't have that on them already and i would compress them and eq them more aggressively. The backing vocals sounded too loud when they came in as well. The guitar could still go back a few dbs imo. If you know how to do parallel compression you could do that on the drums. Nice song!

i took all reverb off the vocals and left only delay. I did compress them harder but did not eq...ill try that.
Ill push the backing vocals back again. I did bring them up for that mix.
i dont know what parallell compression is.

this sounds great man! you got the guitars and vox sitting really nicely in the mix, both distinct, but very present and not fighting for space.

I still think it'd sound slightly better with an electric bass, but this time around I don't mind so much, and I don't think it's a dealbreaker. Well done!

I quite like that mix though its a bit hard to tell on my crappy computer speakers. Your vocalist has a wonderful voice - nice guitar playing too.

There should be plenty of info on the web about parallel compression for your DAW and also vocal treatment tips for female vocalists.
