Secret SD Humbucker On eBay

Re: Secret SD Humbucker On eBay

Hmmm . . . I'm not sure I get the joke here. So, are these a pair of Custom Shop Bug-Sey Buckers, ($150 ea.), for around $66? (So far.)

What are Bug-Sey Buckers anyhow?

Re: Secret SD Humbucker On eBay

Hmmm 12 hm?

Look like Screamin Demons which are SH-12

Outside of that Stevo's the only person I know to have the Bug-Sey Bucker but I was under the impression that the Bug-seys were a different take on the JB?

Meh

Re: Secret SD Humbucker On eBay

Is there really a SD custom shop model called the Bug-Sey? Now you guys have me wondering. The sticker and hex pole pieces on those should make them Demon's.

I just found it funny that someone didn't know what they were....and made something up based on the sticker code....maybe I'm the one that's all wet?

Yup . . . I looked it up. (Under: Products>Custom Shop)

A Google search only pulls up two sights inthe whole world. (SD's being one.)

Re: Secret SD Humbucker On eBay

Oopps....my bad. :smack: Maybe someone should snag them!

Re: Secret SD Humbucker On eBay

i would think those are screamin demons and the "B" for bridge and the "G" for who wound them . :)

Re: Secret SD Humbucker On eBay

No I think those are two pre-2002 Demons. According to the Duncan sticker chart, before 2002, the marking was 12B. Add the initial of the person who put it together or whatever, and you get 12BG.

Re: Secret SD Humbucker On eBay

Once, a "Jeff-NECK"!!! Humbucker was on ebay...
Than i conctaced the guy and told him, that this is a JAZZ! Neck humbucker.
He thought that would be a Neck Version of the JB! (Too sad, that this wasn't!)

Re: Secret SD Humbucker On eBay

Back in about 96 I got a very early Screaming Demon and nobody knew what it was? The guy at the store where I bought it said it was a jazz model. I really liked that pickup until I found out it was a screaming demon! I am a guy who idolizes George Lynch but I was real let down to find out what it was. Maybe I never should have found out!

Re: Secret SD Humbucker On eBay

If you liked the sound of the pickup why would it matter what it was called???

Re: Secret SD Humbucker On eBay

Finding out what it was changed my perception. I felt a little let down.

Re: Secret SD Humbucker On eBay

I just got a user Hohner LP that has a Bug-Sey Bucker in the bridge, according to the seller. I played it for about 5 minutes, haven't metered the pup yet nor pulled it to check the back. One thing tho-- it's neck-spaced, he's got it upside-down in the bridge, and a Gibson 498T bridge model upside down in the neck! As far as the Bug-Sey, it seemed a bit bright, but also much gutsier than a JB. Anyway-- I've got one in-hand, if I can try to discover or answer any questions. Not sure I'm going to keep it, either.

Just prooves that lots of tonal perception can sometimes be in the mind...you should try and forget about that and just listen to it with your ears no matter what its called. Sh!t if i had a home brand humbucker that sounded awesome i wouldnt hate it just if i found out it was home brand!

If it sounds good it sounds good...end of story! We're talking about tone here, not womens shoes :laugh2:

(sorry women, couldnt resist ;) )

Technically, the Jazz is the neck comanion to the JB.
