Sell me on the SLUG pickup...

Hey, SDForum.

My guitars have these pickups...:
1. Distortion n/b set
2. Sentient + Black Winter(b)
3. Jazz + Alternative-8(b)

Similarities and differences between the SLUG pickup (n or b) and the above?
Worth bugging the custom shop with an order, or just fiddle around with tone and EQ to get close?

Why are you considering the Slug in the first place? Is it going to replace one of your current Duncans?

I know a shop that has one in stock. If you want to know, I'll pm you who they are. I don't want to advertise on Duncan's forum.

From the pickups you listed though, it sounds like you are all set. If you want a dedicated SLUG madness guitar though...God bless ya man. I'm all for a project with a purpose.

Probably will buy another guitar, and I'd like each of my instruments to have a different sound.

It is a very different sound. Thick, percussive, powerful. sounds like Sabbath to me.

It will sound a lot thicker, bigger, and more massive than anything you have. Loves to be detuned, and played really slow, all doomy-like. You might not need a bass player.
