Semi Bad review.....

I bought a Crate Power Block at GC on sale for like 70 bucks. I haven't used it till yesterday (bought it 1-7-07, over the 30 day return period.) Plugged it in and turned it on, and ........... nothing. The front led turns on and off, then on and off. It does this until power switch turned off. My intention was to use this to power line 6 products through the rca cd inputs. Mainly a line 6 port. the sound is starting to suck going through the comps speakers. Anyway called customer service, and had well over a 30 min wait on the phone. I just gave up and left a message. I get the feeling that this is what I get for buying a "cheap" product. No offense to any crate owners. there is a "Warranty Advance Replacment" request form. Here is a link, read the bottom, or last part.

would you do this, keeping in mind that if they mess up anything on the recieving end of things when I send the unit back, I will get billed, and sent to collections if not paid in a timely manner? I would send the unit certified of course, but still. Am I being a little unreasonable in my sceptacism. I am sorry I feel that 99% of the time most companies could give less than a d*mn once the product is sold.

Re: Semi Bad review.....

Sorry to hear about your troubles... I bought one when they went down to $99. I intended to use it as a backup amp, but now it is my main amp. I love the clean sound.

I hope you can get it fixed.

Actually, that's a standard practice for getting an advance return on things like hard drives.

I don't think they're being unreasonable.

Re: Semi Bad review.....

when you send things back do you suggest certified, or anything special?

I just send it with the provision for it to have to be signed for. We typically shipped via UPS though. I don't think certified from USPS is all that expensive. For the convenience of being able to track it I do prefer UPS though.

i would at least try to see if GC could do a switch. i mean, they were giving them away to employees as bonus gifts if they made sales over a certain amount. one guy i talked to won like 5 of 'em. perhaps to them it's not a big deal to take it off your hands and give you one that works. even after the 30 day period.

I think it is definitely worth a try... but I know my GC is out of them.

Re: Semi Bad review.....

Do what the last guy did when his died.... he went to your GC and bought a new one, put the old one in the box and took it back so you could buy it later.:smack:
