serious problem with My Ibanez 540 Saber

The control cavity gets smaller (not as tall) as you move toward the outer part of the guitar.

SO the '88 switch was burned out. I decide to throw some random Ibanez or Charvel switch in there. It works great, but.....

Now the control cover won't fit, the switch is taller than the last one.

Which switch will fit????

i have (and love) a 540 ... i had this trouble when i tried to get a megaswitch in there - no dice ... you can get a replacement ibby switch (ym-50?) from a number of places on line ...

The newer Mighty Mites are shorties like the Ibanez switch, and they're actually a pretty good design. Certainly no worse than the black Ibanez switch. I like the feel and longevity of the MM. They have a flexible pressure tab underneath that you can access. So if the switch ever gets soft because that tab begins to take shape over the ball bearing, you can flip it over.
