serious request! what do you guys think?

I was looking over the threads here and once again came across this question

I also have always hated a unstable pup in my guitars.
I think it would be a great idea for duncan to offer thier pups with three screw holes
on the legs.
like this schaller,

this way you can use one if you choose or two on one side and one on the other like carvin

this offers NO ROCKING of the pup and you can angle the pup with the strings as well
if i am not mistaking DIMARZIO has no patent on this yet! :laugh2:

some do have three holes. putting some foam under there usually does the trick but i bet if you wanted you could get the 3 hole legs if you ordered them that way

Almost all the Peaveys come with this "3-screw" mounting system. I love it.

More trouble than it's worth.

I've never had a problem with pickups rocking. IMO, it's a big enough PITA attaching two mounting screws under spring tension without adding another.

I suppose if you crank up the pickups so they're a couple mm's from the string, the freeplay in the pickups might cause them to hit the strings but I don't like the sound of a pickup that close to the string.

I think it's a good idea. I never much notice the tone difference the slant my pups have from the one screw on each side, but it wound be nice to have two for each.

yeah but you guys with covers can just go the one on each side way
there would be three holes on the legs and you could use ANY of them you want, so you can still go one on each side like the traditional ones are.
BTW i HATE covers! they are UUUUUUUUUUUUUGLY :laugh2:

my bluesbird has two screws on one side and one on the other, works perfectly, doesn't rock and i can choose the angel. PS it also has nickel covers and looks good
