Seth Lover Question

Greetings to all. First post.

Newbie question:

I have a 2012 Les Paul Standard and want to replace the burstbucker pros with a set of Seth Lovers.

Beside the pickups what else should be replaced and what would you suggest?

Welcome to the forum.

You can replace the pickups first to see if everything sounds the way you want. Then if you want to tweak the sound, you can change your pots, caps, or even the magnets in the pickups.

I think all you would need is change the pickups, and you'd have a huge improvement. Those Seths are amazing.

Burstbuckers pro compared to the seth lover - Burstbuckers are rude and edgy (awesome sounding) But burstbucker 2-3 have more mids , seth are nice with wery little edge and grit and more mids then burst pros.

Do you not like the edgy sound of the burstuckers? Cause that is what you will be removing :(. PS Pearly Gates is somewhere in the middle of these to.

Do the push pull tone and volume controls make a difference or should I replace them with the new pups?

The burstbuckers are a little to edgy for me.

You can keep all the pots doesent matter , just make sure they are both 500k.

Seths don't generally come with four conductors, so you won't be getting splits with the push pull pots

If you really want split, parallel, or spin o split options, you can convert the Seths from 2 conductor to 4. If not, you could use the push pulls for having 2 tone cap switching, that could be cool. I kind of want to try that.

you can get seths 4cond as a shop floor custom. i have a 4cond set

For my own piece of mind I'll use a set of the Seth Lovers and change the pots.
