Seth Lovers vs Antiquities

Re: Seth Lovers vs Antiquities

Haven't used them, but I can help a little. The Seths are supposed to be what you would have bought brand new back in the mid 50s, as if you went back in a time machine to get them. The Ants are what you might have found recently in your grandfather's closet: 50 some yr old pups.

Here's a link I bookmarked. It was provided by Lewguitar, another forum bro. It's some good reading. Hopefully someone will chime in w/personal experience...

Re: Seth Lovers vs Antiquities

Thanks for the link...that's a good article. IMO, the Seths are a little brighter and a tiny bit stronger sounding. The Ants are a little warmer, more hollow sounding and a little tiny bit lower in output but they have alot of mojo...alot of vibe.

Re: Seth Lovers vs Antiquities

I don't have Seth Lovers, but my Antiquities dropped my jaw. They are just very different. Even from pickups with precisely the same specs. And it's not just a weaker magnet either, they have a good bite.

Ever since I tried them out all that SD AH-[0-9]-whatever stuff sounds kinda the same...

I gotta try SDs and PGs just for kicks, though, but now I only get them cheap or not at all :)
