Seymour Duncan and the company - FOR THE PEOPLE!

I had to say - I have been on this board and touted my love of Seymour Duncan pups as well as other brands. The main part is OTHER brands.

This is an active forum of many creative and guitar junkie'd minds. While I admit we should all practice and gig more and spend less time TALKING about music - this is a great place.

HOW AWESOME IS IT THAT AS A COMPANY SD LETS US OPENLY DISCUSS OTHER BRANDS ? Duncan has even marketed products from this board.

I called MJ once, she called me right back! Now that's service! the sound samples are great, the TECHS are helpful on the phone. Best part - the TECHS go OUT OF THEIR WAY TO SAVE YOU FROM HAVING TO BUY ANOTHER PUP, they have given me every suggestion to improve a wiring or tone before even hinting I need a new SD pup. One even talked me out of the EVH model, because he felt I could save money with another option. doing the RIGHT thing! I love it! How rare in America today!

I even have an SD amp (very unreliable), man did it have tone back in it's days!

I sound cheesy, but I am saying this because I have to love music junkies that do oh so much for their people. I will probably never goto a UGD - not my kinda thing really. It's still amazing they have them!

The story of Seymour and Seth lover, helping him get back in the guitar game and make some extra dough - c'mon he is part of guitar history and great musicians and techs SHOULD make some cheddar for their sweat and soul.

This forum has even helped members make money by doing everything from tech work to pup rewinds. Duncan helps it users, and that's a GORGEOUS thing for a larger music company to still have it's rootsy soul!

Hell yeah! I live in Australia and i once wanted to buy an expensive amp from ebay which was in Detroit...and Robert S from here actually checked it out in person for me and gave it the thumbs up cos he was close by...now thats friggin awesome in my books!!!

besides being a heckuva nice guy and remembering everyone he meets, I think Seymour has an enlightened outlook on life and other people, and it's reflected in those around him

I also think the folks at SD put people first, and their products take care of themselves.

I was actually thinking about this earlier today. Not many companies would be willing to allow open discussion about their competitor's products on their own forum. SD is one of those companies that knows how to embrace technology and how just having an open and positive reflects upon them in a very good way. This forum has become an invaluable marketing tool and insight into useage of their products and ideas for even more products. Plus there are some fantastic people running and working for the company. Seymour and Evan are top notch dudes.

Evan, if you see this, allowing all kinds of open discussion definately reflects positively on the company. Some companies would flip the f*** out if they saw someone talking about their competitor's products, or complaining about theirs, or making suggestions on how to improve their products on their public forum. I can think of one company that does just that actually, and it starts with a big C and ends with an n. lol. Anyway, it brings the comfort level way up and you guys have an air of integrity and down home-ness that most other companies this size don't.

It's kind of part of the reason why even though I dabble with other company's pups I always come back to Seymour Duncan and it's the first thing I suggest to any of my guitar player buddies who want better tone.

Yeah, I'm tired, and I'm rambling. Kudos.

That's not true. If you have a big ego, a crappy product, are motivated by greed rather than quality, or have a small man-unit, this method of business is not for you.
