Seymour Duncan Blackout Singles

Does anyone have experience with the Seymour Duncan Blackout single coil pickups?

More specifically can anyone compare them to the EMG SA pickups?

My issue is I really like the sound of the SA pickups, but the output is overbearingly weak when compared with the EMG 81 I have in the bridge position of the guitar. It's an HSS and looking to replace at least the neck pickup with something higher output but still has a nice single coil type tone.

Or find a way to elegantly boost the output of the SAs.

Re: Seymour Duncan Blackout Singles

i have a set of blackout singles and they sound great! i havent a/b'd my guitar with one that has the sa pups but id guess with the jumper in place the blackouts are a little hotter. one thing i love about the blackouts is you have two output options, you can use a jumper to have high output all the time or (as i do) put it on a switch so you can have a little boost.

if you wanted to boost the output of the sa you could try the emg pa2

EMG SA pickups aren't meant to be as hot as an 81. They are supposed to approximate a Fender single coil pickup. I find then hotter than vintage but not super hot.
