I don't know how I survived before I discovered the Custom Shop. So far I've got about 5 sets from them (two custom made sets, two Éclair sets, and a Concept Set with a matching CS single coil in the middle position) and every set has been fantastic. And their engraving service is amazing too! When I called I spoke to MJ and she suggested having them engraved and they turned out so good -- just absolutely beautiful! I'm so glad she suggested it!
This set was made for a Gibson 1957 Les Paul Custom reissue that I named after my little nephew and these pickups are spectacular! Alnico II, 8.3k and 9.1k, and they sound full and rich, very smooth, and very articulate. But what sets the CS pickups apart for me is how responsive they are according to your playing technique. Whether you pick hard or soft, with a pick our with your fingers, they respond in such an organic, musical way. Just top notch all the way. They're great!
