Seymour Duncan JB + Fender Texas Special pickups

Hi long time lurker here. I just got my Fender Player Series installed with a JB on the bridge. I was planning to upgrade the neck and mid pickups as they "drown" with the JB (i know this is a known issue with HSS strats). I was thinking of the FTS pickups as i read that they are hotter than the stock pickups and well, i'm getting into SRV lately (I'm aware he didn't use the FTS pickups ). Are the JB and FTS a good combo? i'm into grunge, punk and old school rock but planning to learn some blues ala SRV as well. Thanking you guys in advance

Whole the Fender pickups are hotter, they still suffer from the same problem, although not to the same extent. In a case like this, you have to strike a balance between tone (certainly there are single coil sized humbuckers with similar output, but they don't sound like SRV) and output.
