Hi, is seymour duncan coming out with any P90-sized humbuckers? I'm thinking of changing the bridge pickup on my Godin LGSP90 to a humbucker. If SD is coming out with these, (maybe p90 sized versions of the JB or customs) I'll probably wait for them.
I've heard that mini-humbuckers (SM-1, SM-2, SM-3) will fit in P90 sized holes with the mini-humbucker mounting rings for LP deluxe's. Haven't measured it though.
And of course, DiMarzio makes a few P90 sized humbuckers in addition to their minis.
iirc, evan once said that sd's next project after fitting a p-90 in a humbucker cover (phat cats) is having a bucker in a p-90 housing. i am not sure if he meant it as a custom shop model or it will be available commercially, but these are listed under custom shop on the duncan website. maybe evan can shed some light on this.
there is a p90 stack but i dont think thats what you are looking for. as of right now youll need to go custom shop to get a duncan bucker in a p90 size, unless you want the mini humbucker which will fit.

No need to measure, it's true. The LP Deluxe was designed as a replacement for P90-equipped LP's so rather than make a brand new routing pattern or template, they designed the mini-hum ring so the mini-hum could be a direct replacement on a P90 LP.
Some LP lovers buy Deluxes and replace the mini-hums with P90's.
I see in the Custom Shop area of the website that there is a humbucker under P90 cover for $170, but what humbucker is in there? Which model does it represent... or is it any one that you choose?
it shoudl be mentioned that the Rio Grande Baby Buckers that are made to reto fit in a P-90 rout requier a deeper route that P-90...you will have to make the hole about 3/8 of an inch deeper...doing this will make it hard to put P-90 or any other Mini bucker back in the guitar!
