Seymour Duncan -physical accuracy

Hi, newby here! I read the following description of Vintage Clone nickel covers on the Vintage Clone website:

"Nickel Silver humbucking covers - High quality reproductions with sharper edges like the late 50's PAF covers. Available in unplated, nickel (new and aged), chrome and gold in 2 polepiece spacings, 0.386 inches for Duncans and new Gibson pickups and 0.39 inches for original PAFs, Fralins, Wolfetones, etc."

I've always had the impression that SD pickups were some of the most accurate physically to the originals? Having said that, I am sure they all varried back then also, so all modern measurements could still be seen as accurate.

I'm just interested!

Welcome to the Forum.

I'm not sure about the physical accuracy, but the tone is spot on to my ears when it comes to a real PAF and a SD Antiquity. That's after playing quite a few late '50's PAFs (some great sounding and some pretty crappy), as well as hearing some of the other clones out there.
