if i buy a pickup from an authorized dealer, i understand that i get the 21 day real world exchange policy.

does this include authorized dealers on the internet, such as gtrheaven.com and Wymore Guitars?

Absolutely! Their customer service is impecable! I bought a Custom Custom from Musicians Freind, didnt like it and traded it in through them for a DD. Then I didnt like it and am trading it dor a Custom. I could go through the whole Seymour Duncan lineup for 1 pickup purchase before Im done! They are quick about it also. All you pay is shipping 1 way, which is pretty cheap for under 1 lb--about 5 bucks for second day air. Then they usually get them out the day after they recieve your pickup. Then they send it UPS Ground and you can call them for a tracking #. The whole process takes about 1 week from the time you send yours to the time you recieve the ne one(thursday to thursday= if you sent it on a thursday)--pretty good if you ask me! You have to call them first to get an RMA # before you send it. Heres the link to the info:

I have a great story that happened just last month. I bought A Screamin Demon on eBay with the intention of putting it in my Schecter Corsair. My tech called me and said it had a dead coil. I contacted SD Customer service and they not only shipped my replacement the same day, before I even shipped them the defective one, but they let me upgrade it to a PGates for no charge. Their Customer Service is awesome.

Uhhhh..... I guess you could, but if everyone did that, there'd quickly be no more 21 Day Real World Exchange Policy.

Also, note that not every country honors the policy. If you're outside the USA, make sure to check with the local Seymour Duncan Distributor in your country.

I hope that helps.

Exactly. Luckily most of us after one exchange and trying to make an informed decision suck it up and just sell or trade the pickup on the trading post.

Its great to have a company bend over backwards for their customers, but the customers in turn need to make sure they aren't trying to bend SD over forwards (use your imagination lol)

Hello Evan! That was more of a joke than anything else! I really think the Custom is going to do it for me in my SG into my Mesa Stilletto. Im not looking to try everything, just want to find that "something" im looking for. I have high expectations of the Custom given my pickup trials:

First original Gibby 490's
then JB
then Custom 5
Then PRS Dragon II Neck and Bridge set
then dimarzio super 3
then dimarzio Norton
(tried a dimarzio Super Distortion in my freinds' SG)
then Custom Custom
(tried a Pearly Gates set in my freinds' 68 Goldtop)
then Duncan Distortion
and now Custom Custom.

Breath...panting....breath!!

I thought for a while that I wanted more mids to get the low-midsy chunk and clear top end I was after. But after trying these pickups out Im finding out that just gives you more scratch and less boom matched with the punch of the pickup.. I also know that by getting too radical of a mid scoop it just gets sloppy when I add gain to it--thats what I found with the Custom 5. A tight, chunky sound is what Ive always been after. Im finding (theoretically) that I really want a pickup with a pretty matched bass and mid-range response, and just enough treble to give me clarity and sing when i want it. Think the Custom will do it for me?

Brandon in your customer service department has been a HUGE help to me in determining this. Props for your great customer service! He has always been very supportive and helpfull to me when Ive called, even when it was to return a pickup (which im assuming as to be a little bit of a pain in the butt for him). Thanks for anything you could add Evan!

Millsart--I will say that Ive previously purchased 2 SD pickups before I ever even knew about the exchange policy they offered. Then I bought a Custom Custom--since then I traded for a DD and a Custom(yet to arrive). The original comment was a joke.... Trading 2 times when I have purchased 3 pickups is not what I would consider "abusing the system".

Seems you've had a negative aproach to things yesterday and now into today--hope your day gets better.:)

It was new. The guy that sold it to me said that their Customer Service was unbelievable and he was right. The PG costs more than the Screamin Demon and he didnt even blink. Great guys...great pickups! The PG that I got is awesome. It made a $800 guitar sound like a $3000 guitar.
