Seymour Duncan sent a AlNiCo Pro II HB Neck in a '59 neck box?

Hello everyone! I've been on a neck pickup kick recently. Went to a local store and bought a brand new '59 neck. I've had the bridge version in one of my other guitars so I was surprised to see that when I opened it it was a four conductor with no wood spacers. I checked the resistance on the pup and also found that to be off. The total resistance was actually 7.45k +or-10%. This pickup looks an AlNiCo II Pro HB neck. and that would make sense considering the the AlNiCo II is rated at 7.5k and the '59 is rated at 7.6k. Has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks in advance!

Never heard of it but I believe you could just return it to SD and get a 59 if that’s the case.

And welcome to the forum :)

100 ohms is the difference between a "cheap" meter and a calibrated unit. The difference between a measurement in Montana or Florida. It's virtually no difference. The 59 is available in both the "vintage correct" 2-wire, long leg version, and the more versatile 4-wire short-legged version.

Yep......as Artie has just said the measurement is nothing.......minor temperature differences can do it no prob. As well as the typical wire inconsistencies usual with hair thickness mass produced wire and the act of winding it onto a bobbin at tension. Pickups are wound to turns which means K rating always has a range of outcomes.

That makes sense! I just didn't know they made it in 4-conductor. Thanks guys.
