Seymour Duncan SM1 and/or SM3 (Mini Humbuckers) Opinions Wanted

Just ordered this combo for my 2016 Gibson Firebird T, hoping to get some opinions on the pickups from fellow users. How does the SM3-b hold up under high gain? How are the clean/lightly overdriven sounds on the SM1-N? THX

Also how difficult is it to switch out the stamped S logo covers with plain ones? I'm hoping my stock Firebird pup covers can be removed and replace the logo ones on the SM mini hums. I have A LOT of soldering experience if that helps.

swapping covers on firebird pups isnt a great idea. the cover is what holds the whole thing together

Hey I tried the SM1n/SM3b in a tele. LOVED the SM1 didn't like the SM3. It does high gain well however you lose the opnenness and boingy single coil-like quality. Cleans were rather bad compared to the SM1n. On a sid enote, I also tried a SM-2b and hated the ceramic magnet in comparison.
I then tried Antiquities which I liked best of all, but ten I'm not playing much heavy music. There is much to be said about low wind pickups -they maintain more clarity that you can dirty up downstream with amp/pedals.
