What's everyone's view of putting a Quarter Pounder in the middle pickup selection with a H-S-S format?

Would it be pointless and a waste?

Re: Seymour duncan ssl-4 quarter pounder

I have a Strat with a QP neck, SSL-5 mid and Little 59 bridge. Originally the QP and SSL-5 were switched. The QP sounds better at the neck.

I told a guitar tech to install it in the middle position he looked at me funny but he said he will do it. I hope I'm not making a mistake and wasting $

Not a lot of people like the middle pickup by itself. People tend to like it in switch positions 2/4 with the bridge or neck. The currently popular theory is to have a underpowered single coil in the middle to accentuate the out of phase sounds in positions 2/4. There's nothing wrong with having it in the middle, it's just a matter of taste.
