Seymour Duncan Vintage staggered/flat?

I don't see many people talking about it... It does seem to be 'the' strat pickup though?
Would it distort the clean tones (6.6 seems quite a big output for a single coil?) you think? I'm thinking of one for my neck position (basswood guitar). Would it work well there you think, mainly for clean and distorted Blues?

I'd say it's safe to say that the output would be pretty much vintage.
16.9 is what the hotrails pushes out, and even that can be used clean. That vintage staggered pickup will be very true to original 50's in character and materials. The staggering might even assume wound third string. Distorted blues might be best if using a nice "hot" with alnico v. Gives you bit more raunch in a texas way perhaps?

If you're talking about the SSL1...That's normally a pretty hot topic..Maybe a search under SSL1 would be a good read for ya?

I'll do just that.

I had the hot in mind too. It seems more attractive to me but I was affraid it'd distort the clean. Has anyone here got one on the neck of their guitar you think?
Other solution would be a tapped cool rails or Lil Screamin' Deamon but I don't know how they sound there.

I like the SSL's and APS'. If you don't need high output but want a it fatter tone, go with the flat version. I have a pair of APS-2's in the neck and mid of my MIJ 62 RI as part of an Albert Lee Sig set from a Music Man guitar and they work great for clean and dirty blues, funk, rock, country, and pretty much any kind of music that you would use a strat for.
