Seymour Lipsticks in Stratocaster XII

Anybody think this could be a cool improvement ? The existing pups don't do a whole lot for me and I need to open 'er up anyway to clean the switch, which is noisy and shorting out. What about Seymour's Strat lipsticks ? I know it'd be a very cool look, if nothing else... but I want it to sound better/more interesting. And since I'm not going for distortion with the 12 string, just some natural tube amp smoothness, I'm wondering if the lipsticks wouldn't give it more tubey chime, whatever that means... (and I'm assuming the mounting arrangement in the Strato XII is the same as for a regular Strat)...

Re: Seymour Lipsticks in Stratocaster XII

I've never used them in a 12 String Strat but I have used them...the best way to describe lipstick pickups is beefy twang...that pretty much sums it up for me!

I have been thinking about a 12 string strat and from the sound samples I would go with cool rails/duckbucker/vintage rails. Although lipsticks would sound cool.

well, Danos use lipstick pickups on their twelve strings (of course)

the guy in Steve Earle's band plays one ... definitely a jangly clean tone, IIRC.

Re: Seymour Lipsticks in Stratocaster XII

Should be a good fit. These pickups like to be connected in series.
