Sg-3

I recently played an SG-3, a Gibson SG with 3 single coils and a six position rotary switch. I was blown away. It was seriously one of the best guitars I have ever played, and I have NO IDEA WHY. I'm not just talking about tone here, though the tone was fantastic, I'm talking about playability. I tend to like skinny shred necks with big frets, so I have no idea why the SG-3, with its relatively small frets and large neck profile, was so awesome. Can anyone explain this to me? What is it about this guitar that I like so much!?

here's the guitar by the way: http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Gibson-SG3-Fireburst-Electric-Guitar?sku=514173

Re: Sg-3

Every guitar is cut differently and every human hand is formed differently. You found a neck that matches your hand and statistics and measurements and specs have nothing to do with it.

This is why i encourage players to forget about what "they like" in a guitar because you haven't played 100% of every guitar built so you have no idea when you might find one that wins.

You probably like the combination of strat switching options, SG ergonomics, Gibson scale and body materials. I would imagine this combination of features would yield a familiar, yet distinctive guitar.
