SH-2 Jazz BRIDGE magnet question

Hello,
I am broke. So there's that. I wish to use a Jazz bridge in the bridge position (just to be clear) but want to keep the most high end with out any
"mid-scoop" - or at least with the lowest amount of mid scooping possible. So, the question is: Would a mag change to a RCA5 or an A4 be better than the polished A5 that is already in there? Or would there be little to no difference with a mag change. These are my only choices for this particular conversation. I have not used one before in the bridge and have heard/read it is very mid-scooped. I am happy to be incorrect on any information I have heard/read.
Thank you for your thoughts and info.
Steve Buffington.

Re: SH-2 Jazz BRIDGE magnet question

I've never used it in a humbucker, but A4 seems to flatten out the mids of the pickups it's in and adds a bit of high end (to my ears). I'd start there.

I think you need to hear it in the bridge first, before deciding how much scoop it actually has in your guitar and your rig.

RCUOA5 would result in a bit less scoop than what a polished A5 results in, but still have detail and high end and coupled with some complexity and ‘texture’. An A4 would result in a more even frequency response but perceptually lean nearer to a heavier mid-sound like what an A2 results in, compared to if you are used to a scooped sound resulting from an A5.

I’m speaking based on my experiments with ‘59 pickups and the resulting delta with each magnet change. I haven’t mag swapped a Jazz/A2P bridge before to know if the delta is more or less severe.

A4 is quite even-voiced and usually has very nice high end sparkle.
UA5 to me has more personality but is richer and warmer.

Appreciate your inputs. I am not a fan of A2's. And my current favorite p'up's (S.Lover w/ RCA5, and WLH RCA5), from what you say about the A4 being closer to an A2 makes me lean RCA5. The winding I assume in an SH-2 Jazz is much different so I felt I shouldn't just go with that as a default with out asking. Thanks,
Steve
