SH-2 low output ?

I just finished upgrade of my Black Beauty Ibanez Art120 by myself,
SH-2 & SH-4 is on the air !

The first impressions:

- SH-4: Wow ! So strong but clear ! Really rock on PU ( i can't beleive: power like some active PU )

- SH-2: it's so warm, so clean, sound is beautiful .............

......but, I've just one suspicion or doubt: :scratchch
output of SH-2 regarding to SH-4 is really weak, very low.

For example:

- with clean chanel vol. and master vol. on my BugeraV55 both set about 6, and JB selected, i get great sound level and quality

- to reach only the half of sound level mentioned above, but now with JAZZ selected, I must both volume set to max.

Is it normal ?

I used these items:
- SD Hot Rodded Humb. Set ( SH-4 JB, SH-2N )
- SD Liberator 500K vol.pot
- SD 500K vol. pot
- Gewa 500K push/pull pot. for Master tone and coil splitting
- 0.047 uF cap

the sh-2 is a lower output pickup than the jb. but it shoudn't be that mismatched. try raising the neck pickup and lowering the bridge pickup. failing that check your wiring & make sure you haven't wired it in single coil mode.

I actually had the opposite experience, had jb/jazz in my prs but had to keep raising the jb trying to match the volume of the jazz (which was a hair beneath the pickup ring). Swapped the jb for sh-5 since then and am a happy camper.

Well, I already set Jazz to max. high position but no effect.
And I checked and I'm sure that work same in both mode ( non-splitted & splitted mode ).

@dingleberry: is your Jazz at neck or bridge position ?

fret on the last fret and set the high E with nearly touching the pole. Do it similar with the low E. - should be much louder than. If not: wrong wiring or a shot pot.

The problem solved :friday:
The thin connection between outer midle contact and inner rotation part of neck vol. pot was damaged :cool2:

Now my Black Beauty sounds beautiful :1:
even in splitted mods
