SH-3 Stagmag.Hmmm I didn't expect that

Ok I recently went to a friend's place to hang out, noodle around on guitars and have a cup of coffee. Then he brings a case and out comes a partscaster.Mahogany body from who knows where, and a 90 something Japanese fender 62 style neck(rosewood fretboard).Trem (vintage style) was not blocked but backed against the body.Pickguard was H-H,bridge position a regular ceramic Custom and neck pickup an SH3 stag mag.Amp was a Hughes & Kettner Tube 50 1x12 combo(always seemed kinda meeeh to me).5 way switch was wired H(b)-split(b)-split bridge and neck in parallel-split neck and finally full on humbucker neck.Custom was as expected, custom split as usual a little lower output than I like in bridge and kind of sterile but passable, and then came the shock. The middle position with both pickups split had one of the most convincing tele middle position sounds I have ever heard from a non tele guitar, split neck was super clear with just the right highs, and the neck in full humbucker mode was akin to sweet but wailing, and get this, when you backed the volume in a crunchy drive sound at about half, you could swear someone hid a lespaul with an A2pro neck and was waiting for Slash to pay a visit.I didn't expect that kind of reaction,it retained just the right amount of highs.Volume and tone were both 500k.So to get to the point of interest. Is there anyone currently using a Stagmag in neck position in a strat or any guitar for that matter? What do you like about it?What is your experience?

what can you say about them in those positions??? any comparisons to other models???

Middle position has a nice honk in humbucker mode. In split mode I use coil closest to neck and it is strat like (as much as a LP can get). My neck StagMag is flipped due to having RWRP coil. Some how the North and South coils are different from a standard duncan bridge humbucker. So logo coil is like the slug coil of a standard duncan humbucker. So neck flipped is awesome. Great strat spank in split mode (neck coil). In humbucker mode it is clear and almost pearly gates neck territory. Only thing is pinched harmonics are not as convincing with the StagMag. Just can't seem to squeak thm out as well as with a real humbucker.
